Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask a little about what’s brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get from it. It’s also a chance for you to ask me anything. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.
How much will it cost?
My fee is £50 for a 50-minute session, whether we meet online or in person. I want to make sure support is as accessible as possible. Payment is by bank transfer.
How many sessions will I need?
This is different for everyone and is something we can explore together. Some people find that a short-term block of sessions is enough, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll regularly review how things are going so you always feel informed.
What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?
That’s completely okay and actually very common. The free introductory call is designed exactly for this. It’s a no commitment conversation where you can explore whether therapy feels like the right step for you right now.
What if I want to stop?
You are free to end therapy at any time. I do ask for as much notice as possible so we can have a proper ending, but I understand that circumstances change and there is never any pressure to continue.
Is your therapy room accessible?
Face-to-face therapy takes place in a self-contained therapy space, set within a private garden. This is based in Northwich and has private parking available on site, with approximately 10-15 steps from the car park, through a gate, to the therapy space. There is one step to enter the office. I want to be open about this so that you can make an informed decision about whether face-to-face sessions are right for you.
If you have a mobility difficulty, a disability, or any access need you’d like to discuss, please do get in touch before booking. I’m always happy to talk this through. Online therapy is available as a fully accessible alternative.
Do I need any experience of therapy to start?
Not at all! Many of my clients come to therapy for the first time. I’ll guide you through the process gently and at a pace that works for you, we’re in this together.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in sessions is confidential. The only exceptions to this are if I have serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others. I would always aim to discuss this with you first wherever possible. We will chat through this more in our first session.
